Root Directory / Home Directory Isolation

When creating a new user, you assign a root directory that acts like a “home” for that user. Users cannot navigate outside their root, see only relative paths, and the real underlying storage layout is abstracted. This ensures isolation and limits risk

Folder-level Permissions & Read/Write Modes

Users can be restricted to specific folders. Permissions can be granular: e.g. read-only (download/view), write-only (upload/submit), or full read/write. Helps segment what different users or external partners can dotext

Password & Public Key (RSA/SSH) Authentication

Couchdrop supports both password-based login and SSH/RSA public key authentication for SFTP/SCP. Users can manage their keys, and administrators can configure key types, assign public keys to users

Feature Access & Protocol Controls

Admins can control which protocols are enabled (SFTP, FTP, FTPS, SCP etc.) and which features are available to users. Also firewall / static IP controls, custom domains, and possibly domain restrictions to limit how access is exposed
