How it works

Workday has multiple ways to export and send files to other platforms. By using Couchdrop, you can securely receive files from Workday using multiple transfer methods and have those files land in any connected directory.

Because Couchdrop can integrate with over 30 storage platforms, what this means is that you can directly send files from Workday to any connected storage, with the ability to use the full capabilities of Couchdrop.

Files sent from Workday are compatible with all Couchdrop features, including automation that can transfer, process, transform, and move data automatically.

Getting started

Workday has multiple ways to send files. Depending on the method (SFTP, Mailbox, Webhook), you’ll need to configure the method in Couchdrop and choose the data in Workday to transfer, then configure the transfer method and schedule.


Workday SFTP to Couchdrop

  1. Create/choose a Couchdrop SFTP user to authenticate with Workday
  2. In Workday, choose the data/report you want to send. For example, you could send a custom report by creating an EIB, choosing Outbound connection, setting the file format, then selecting SFTP as the delivery method.
  3. Add the Couchdrop user details from Step 1, then send/schedule the data to be sent.

Email files from Workday to Couchdrop

  1. Create/choose a Couchdrop Mailbox and connect your target directory to the mailbox.
  2. In Workday, find the data you want to send and configure the file format. Choose email as the delivery method and send the file as an attachment.
  3. Add the email address for the Couchdrop mailbox from Step 1 as the recipient, then schedule/send the data.

Send Workday data via Webhook to Couchdrop

  1. Choose/create an Inbound Webhook and choose a destination. Copy the generated webhook URI.
  2. Select the data in Workday you want to send and configure the file format. For the delivery method, choose HTTP/SSL or similar.
  3. Paste the Couchdrop webhook URI as the HTTP address and schedule the export.
