Integrate Backblaze B2 with Couchdrop

How it works

The Backblaze B2 storage connector allows you to integrate Backblaze cloud storage buckets with Couchdrop and use them as endpoints for sending and receiving files. This connector acts as a virtual folder to directly access files within the Backblaze bucket in Couchdrop.

The Backblaze B2 connector is compatible with all file transfer methods and tools including Shared Links, Mailboxes, Upload Portals, and automations.

Once connected, a folder for the Backblaze connection will be added to Couchdrop. From that folder, users can list objects in the designated bucket, as well as upload, download, and delete files according to the access permissions you configure. This allows internal and external teams to access files via SFTP, FTP, or any other supported protocol while being scoped to access and actions that you set.

Couchdrop connects to Backblaze buckets by using the Backblaze Master Key and providing access using the Key ID and the bucket’s Bucket ID. Files are transferred through Couchdrop, but are not stored at rest on Couchdrop infrastructure.

You can add multiple buckets by creating a separate connection for each bucket.

Capabilities

  • Use Backblaze cloud storage buckets as a source or destination for secure file transfers
  • List, Create, Modify, and Delete files in Backblaze buckets from Couchdrop
  • Access files in Backblaze buckets via FTP, SFTP, FTPS, or through the Couchdrop interface
  • Apply granular folder permissions for different users
  • Automate file transfers and file processing with Backblaze files

Getting started

  1. Create a new storage connection for Backblaze B2 and choose a name for how the virtual folder will appear in Couchdrop, e.g., Backblaze Storage Bucket
  2. Provide the connection details for the Backblaze account and target bucket
  3. Choose a location within the bucket to act as the root (Optional)
  4. Add users to access the Backblaze bucket or configure transfers to/from the folder
