We've made some big updates to Upload Links to make them easier to use, more secure, and more flexible for different use cases. You can now request multiple files, create subfolders, collect metadata as a CSV, and restrict emails as part of an Upload Link.

Request multiple files

Previously, only one file could be uploaded per link visit. We've changed that to allow you to collect multiple files at once.

When configuring an Upload Link, choose to add a field in the input form section and select 'File' as the field type. Add an internal identifier and user-facing field name and save.

You can add as many File fields as needed in a single form to collect as many files as you need at once.

Automatically create a subfolder on submission

You now have the option to make a subfolder for each file upload to help with separating and organizing uploaded files.

To do this, check the option to place uploads in a subfolder. You'll be shown an example display path to show where the subfolder will appear.

The subfolder name will be given a Unique ID by default, but you can change this to any field in the form such as Email address or a configurable Text field.

Collect file metadata in a CSV

File metadata can now be added to a CSV file and uploaded to the same folder as the submitted file automatically.

To enable this, check the option to upload form fields as a CSV. The CSV will include the name of the file uploaded and each form field included. When uploading multiple files in one Upload Link and using this option, each folder will have a separate CSV file.

CSV names will be the same name as the uploaded folder with an appended identifier and metadata.csv.

Restrict allowed emails

To restrict Upload Links from going to the wrong people, you can now limit the email addresses that can use the portal and upload files.

You can configure an allow list in the allowed emails section of the Upload Link. Allowed emails can be single emails separated by commas or wildcards to allow matching email patterns like entire domains.

When an allowed list is enabled, anyone who visits the link will be asked to verify their email first. Any wrong emails will get a message that the email is invalid, and for valid emails, a one-time passcode will be mailed to the email address that needs to be entered to access the web portal.
