Integrate Egnyte with Couchdrop

How it works

The Egnyte connector allows you to integrate Egnyte storage with Couchdrop and use Egnyte folders as a secure location for sending and receiving files. This connector acts as a virtual folder to directly access files within Egnyte from within Couchdrop.

The Egnyte connector is compatible with all file transfer methods and tools including Shared Links, Mailboxes, Upload Portals, and automations.

Once connected, a folder for the Egnyte connection will be added to Couchdrop. From that folder, users can list objects in the Egnyte content cloud, as well as upload, download, and delete files according to the access permissions you configure. This allows internal and external teams to access files via SFTP, FTP, or any other supported protocol while being scoped to access and actions that you set.

Couchdrop connects to Egnyte over Egnyte’s API. Files are transferred through Couchdrop, but are not stored at rest on Couchdrop infrastructure.

You can make connections to different roots or Egnyte accounts by creating separate connections.

Capabilities

  • Use Egnyte as a source or destination for secure file transfers
  • List, Create, Modify, and Delete files and folders in Egnyte from Couchdrop
  • Access Egnyte files via FTP, SFTP, FTPS, or through the Couchdrop interface
  • Provide access to Egnyte files without provisioning an Egnyte user
  • Apply granular folder permissions for different users
  • Automate file transfers and file processing with Egnyte

Getting started

  1. Create a new storage connection for Egnyte and provide a name for how the folder will appear in Couchdrop, e.g., Egnyte Admin
  2. Provide your Egnyte Domain and authorize the connection via OAUTH
  3. Choose a folder within Egnyte to act as the root (Optional)
  4. Add users to access the Egnyte folder or configure transfers to/from the folder
