Automate Couchdrop user provisioning with Okta

Couchdrop integrates with Okta to provide secure authentication and identity management using SAML-based single sign-on (SSO) and SCIM provisioning. This enables centralized user access control, automated user provisioning and deprovisioning, and seamless login experiences across your organization.

Integrate Okta SSO with Couchdrop

How it works

SCIM provisioning with Okta keeps users and groups in sync between Okta and Couchdrop automatically. Once connected, Okta becomes the source of truth for identity management, reducing manual onboarding and administration work.

When users or groups are created, updated, or deactivated in Okta, those changes are automatically reflected in Couchdrop. This ensures account access, user details, and group memberships stay current without requiring manual updates.

Couchdrop also supports importing existing users and groups back into Okta. This can help when migrating to centralized identity management or reconciling existing Couchdrop accounts with your Okta directory.

Provisioning is secured using a Couchdrop-generated provisioning token, which Okta uses to authenticate SCIM requests during synchronisation.

Getting started

To connect Okta with Couchdrop:

  1. In Couchdrop, create a new User Provisioning Token from the User Provisioning section.
  2. In Okta, add the Couchdrop SCIM application from the Okta App Catalog.
  3. Open the application’s Provisioning settings and enable API integration.
  4. Paste the provisioning token into the API Token field and test the connection.
  5. Enable the provisioning actions you want Okta to manage, such as creating, updating, or deactivating users.
  6. Assign users and groups to the application to begin syncing.

Optional import settings are also available if you want to bring existing Couchdrop users or groups into Okta.
