Integrate ServiceNow with Couchdrop

How it works

ServiceNow can collect files from Couchdrop for import into ServiceNow tables, or produce files that Couchdrop routes into the correct destination. For example, HR or ERP exports can be staged in Couchdrop and collected by ServiceNow for user, asset, or cost-center updates. ServiceNow reports or ticket exports can also be sent onward to SharePoint, S3, Azure Blob, Snowflake, or a vendor folder.

Couchdrop sits between ServiceNow and the systems that need the files. Instead of building separate point-to-point transfers for every destination, teams can use Couchdrop as the transfer hub and connect ServiceNow file workflows to storage, analytics, collaboration, SIEM, and automation platforms.

Capabilities

  • Provide SFTP, FTP, or FTPS endpoints for ServiceNow file-type data sources
  • Stage HR, asset, CMDB, user, incident, and operational files for ServiceNow imports
  • Route ServiceNow exports and reports into SharePoint, S3, Azure Blob, Google Drive, Snowflake, or other connected platforms
  • Automate file renaming, copying, archiving, and onward delivery after transfer
  • Use Couchdrop alongside ServiceNow APIs, IntegrationHub, and MID Server workflows where file and API automation are both needed

Getting started

  1. Create a Couchdrop SFTP or FTP user for the ServiceNow workflow.
  2. Choose the connected folder where ServiceNow should collect files from or deliver files to, such as SharePoint, S3, Azure Files, or Azure Blob.
  3. In ServiceNow, configure a file-type data source or export workflow using the Couchdrop endpoint details.
  4. Map inbound files through import sets and transform maps, or route outbound files through Couchdrop automations.
  5. Use Couchdrop to archive copies, move files to downstream systems, or separate files by business unit, customer, or workflow.
